Composer

Biography
Étienne Lacasse is a screen composer from the Québec City region. Originally trained in jazz and pop guitar, he went on to pursue composition, earning a specialized certificate in screen music followed by a bachelor's degree in composition from the Université de Sherbrooke.
A sonic explorer, Étienne moves between classical orchestration and electroacoustic soundscapes. He is particularly drawn to the interplay between acoustic and synthetic textures, as well as sound manipulation as a tool for visual storytelling.
He recently composed the score for the web series Détective Beaubien contre l’Indicible, available on Bell TV1, as well as several short films produced by Social T. In 2025, he took part in the Video Game Music Lab, organized by the SOCAN Foundation in collaboration with Ubisoft. He is currently composing music for a documentary about the Code avec moi initiative, as well as an adaptation of Patrick Sénécal's novel, The Passenger.
Alongside his work for screen, he is producing a solo EP that explores a hybrid musical aesthetic at the crossroads of orchestration, electronic music, and sound experimentation.
